Rest: is what will speed up recovery. The more you re on it the more inflamed the Achilles gets and takes longer to heal.

Try otc: ibuprofen and 1-1/2 inch heel support to avoid stretching tendon. Exercise is probably not good idea while you have pain. This could also be deep vein thrombophlebitis, so show it to a doctor if pain persists especially if it is the calf.
