Tough one: That's a tough one. Post-traumatic stress disorder is hard to treat. However, medicines and cognitive-behavioral treatment (cbt) may help. The poor sleep can be treated with cbt and with off-label medicines that can help with sleep without being addicting. You will probably need treatment chronically.

Organisms heal : During sleep. If organisms don't sleep they don't heal well. Sleep is essential in the treatment of ptsd. Treatment of basic d/o w ssri's can help. Prazosin & combo of melatonin w Buspar (buspirone) is good. Atypical antipsychotics are sedating. Avoid meds with potential for tolerance. Acupuncture helps for sleep as well as breathing exercises & progressive muscle relaxation. Use excellent sleep hygiene.
