A member asked:

Low potassium 3mmol/l for the last month? have been eating high potassium foods and it has not increased?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info.: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, chronically low potassium suggests an abnormality of adrenal cortical hormones. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation.
