A member asked:

I have been diagnosed with contact dermatitis and was told that i may be gluten-sensitive. does it help to reduce gluten or must i go gluten-free?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gluten sensitivity: Doesn't cause rash. The diagnosis of gluten sensitivity is still controversial. People complain of bloating, gas, cramping. Celiac disease, however can cause a rash-little blisters on the elbows for instance. The symptoms of gluten sensitivity (not rash) can get better with avoiding gluten and other fermentable carbohydrates.
