Please get evaluated: Shortness of breath associated with chest pain should always be check out. The location of the chest pain sounds more consistent with musculoskeletal pain, which could be associated with hyperventilation, but primary lung disease like asthma or cardiac condition needs to be ruled out. Start with your family doctor who may referred to a specialist such as a pulmonologist.
