High dose: There is no one correct dose for oral steroids, but most clinicians would dose according to the severity of the allergy or that particular person's previous response to oral steroids. 60 mg of prednisone is a high dose for some rashes such as hives but may be necessary for generalized allergic reaction like anaphylaxis. IDouble check with doctor to make sure that is the correct dose.
