Antihistamines: If the dermatologist thinks it is an allergic reaction try adding a nonsedating antihistamine like loratadine daily and a zantac (ranitidine) 150mg twice a day. We usually think of zantac (ranitidine) for stomach but it blocks another kind of histamine release and can be helpful with a standard antihistamine for resistant allergic reactions. If this does not help then return to the dermatologist or see an allergist.
