Gauze: Place a wad of sterile gauze over the wound and bite down firmly for 15 minutes. Repeat as necessary for another 3 times. Do not rinse with anything. If it is still bleeding, call your dentist. A wet tea bag in lieu of the gauze can also be helpful.

Apply Light Pressure: Bleeding from the extraction sites two weeks postop can be related to a number of causes. Trauma to the extraction site(s) from eating, irregular exposed bone, as well as any medications that can affect and thin the blood are possible causes. Gently clean the area and bite on a folded gauze sponge if you have any left from your surgery. Biting on a moistened tea bag can help. See your dentist.
