Oozing is normal: Bloody ooze is normal for 2-3 days after extraction--because the wound can never "dry out" and is often attached to tissue that is movable--both things disrupt the stabilization of a clot. To check at home, rinse your mouth with water, allow mouth to fill again and then spit into sink. If thin, watery and red, most likely saliva. If thick and "gloppy", like being shot in a movie-call the surgeon.

Mostly normal, but: Take a regular tea bag (black tea, not herbal ; not green tea), moisten the bag and place it gently on the extraction site bite or hold firmly in place, for at least 20 minutes, this will usually stop any bleeding --also no smoking, drinking from a straw or spitting, as that negative oral cavity pressure will disrupt the clot.
