This is long term: this type of problem would suggest perhaps a stress fracture which may not be seen by x-ray but should be picked up by bone scanning or other imaging. Since it is been there for seven years though you need to have your physician get a neurologic as well as a musvaluation. You may need to see a neurologist or a rheumatologist to see if this can be answered.
