Call your doctor: Even though you don't have an appointment with your doctor until next month, most likely s'he will be willing to call in a prescription for whatever dose and quantity of Risperidone you need to taper off of it. We cannot prescribe via this platform and, with few exceptions, don't prescribe psychiatric meds via virtual consults. Thank you.

Contact doctor: Although your appointment isn't until next month, this would be an occasion to contact your doctor by phone to ask this question -- or to contact the covering doctor. When someone is at the end of a taper, a common last step is 1 mg of Risperidone; but we have no way of knowing if that is what your doctor has decided is best for you.

Call your doctor: All doctors, especially those who are treating serious mental conditions such as those for which medication such as Risperidone needed to be prescribed, provide coverage so the patient can be advised in a perceived emergency. If you are having problems call your doctor or go to an Emergency Room.

A reasonable: rule of thumb depending on what you're replacing risperdone with is to take 3 mg for 4 days, then 2 mg for 4 days, then 1 mg for 4 days. You can always call your prescriber for clarification, in addition.

Medication effects: I understand your distress. Thank you for informing about Tired, no motivation, Bipolar disorder, Risperdal, Wellbutrin (bupropion). Taking Wellbutrin (bupropion) with Risperdal may increase the risk of seizures. Wellbutrin (bupropion) can increase blood levels of Risperdal increasing side effects- possible reason for your tiredness. Call Your psychiatrist or Psychiatrist covering for him for Diagnosis, medications and dose need.

1 mg decrease qwk: Assuming that you're certain and the doctor and you agreed that tapering off the agent is safe and a plan exists for resuming it if feeling much worse, than decreasing the dose by 1 mg every week , until off it, i.e. 2 mg for 1 week, 1 mg for week after that, then stopping it. Maybe resuming and taking 1/2 mg for 1 week if not feeling right. But depends on when you last saw and reason for stopping
