A member asked:

When to stop pristiq (desvenlafaxine)? obviously consult gp. but when do you know when to come off it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

When ready: You taper and discontinue when you and your doctor are persuaded it isn't working; are persuaded that it is causing a side effect that is not tolerable or manageable; or are confident that your original symptoms, before starting the Pristiq, (desvenlafaxine) are unlikely to return. This last situation is at minimum a year after the symptoms were fully managed and at a time when current stressors are minimized.
