Difference is...: A pediatrician is a doctor that takes care of children from the ages of newborn to 18 years old. An obstetrician is a doctor that takes care of pregnant women and delivers babies.

A big difference: An obstetrician takes care of women while they are pregnant and help the mother to deliver the baby. A pediatrician is the doctor who takes care of the baby once it is born until about the age of 21 years old.
