help! i have a sharp stabbing pain in the right side of my lower left back. it happened mostly when i bend over but sometimes when i twist and when i sit down it feels like a mild pressure. i also feel a bit of pain when i walk especially up stairs.

Back pain: Some things you can try at home for back pain include a warm shower with the water aimed at your back, a heating pad (insure that you don’t get burned), stretching & Tylenol or NSAID’s. If your pain is severe or chronic, a medical evaluation would be prudent. Acupuncture & massage can be beneficial for some types of back pain.

Back pain: Back pain can be caused from disc problems, vertebral issues or referred pain from internal problems. At 33 you would be more susceptible to a disc problem. Were you active when the problem started. Strain would be the most common cause. If you can not bend you should be evaluated.
