Peculiar problem: Unless he has been swimming or has another reason to have an outer ear infection, the drops do nothing. Middle ear infections arise from retained mucus within the middle ear that is infected by throat germs. The mucus also prevents the ear bones from vibrating so they lose some hearing.You can either wait it out or have someone see whats really going on. The drops won't matter.
