Get data!: Is your son's doctor keeping growth curve charts, and if so have they been discussed with you? If yes what were you told? If not, please insist that you are shown your son's data. The doctor should give you some literature. If not available go online and look for articles related to growth in children. There are many articles.

Elevated BMI: Have your physician do a thorough check up and do any labs, such as thyroid screening. Talk to a nutritionist and visit the American Pediatric Academy site, healthy kids.org to help with dietary management. Avoid feeding by other household members. All the best.
