Right hip now hurts to sleep on after pulling on dogs while walking them. it hurt after walking them but now only when lying on that side. no swellin?

Sounds like trochan-: -teric bursitis. Pain is caused by the bursa not happy with the walking & the pullig. The fascia rubs against the prominence of the outer hip with each step. The walking you described & the pulling, especially if any of it was up & down hills will cause this inflammation. Ice after activity, NSAIDS if able 2 take them, avoid lying on that side, & activity modification.
