Won't hurt: but you can have this followed as this can be any number of issues such as vitiligo (if you have family hx, autoimmune problems), tinea versicolor (fungal infection), idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis (usually seen on sun exposed areas) or pityriasis alba (white in summer and becomes dry and reddish/scaly in winter - seen in teenagers) or Nevis depigmentosus (hair in discolored area is white)
