Muscular: what you've got is most probably back muscles spasm, weak muscles from faulty positions that we usually put ourselves in while using laptops or driving, work on strengthening your back muscles, stretch often and walk a lot, if condition persists see your doctor, good luck

Back pain/rib pain: Afraid you need a good exam and likely a couple tests such as chest x-ray, pulse oximetry and pulmonary function tests. Lung examination; inflammation from pneumonia, pleurisy, pneumothorax, bronchitis can be involved. Trauma? Fever? The musculoskeletal system needs a good look; is there tenderness at a point. Not to mention the "stopped breathing" detail. Please seek urgent medical assistance.
