How effective is a support group for treating obsessive compulsive disorder (ocd)?

Support groups help: by bringing together people affected by OCD but are not treatment, i.e., interventions directly improving or curing the condition. Effective treatments include specific psychological interventions such as Cognitive Therapy (which can be done in a group led by a therapist). Support groups allow people to share and encourage but don't provide therapy. Ask the sponsors to clarify which it is.
