It's an indication: that something important is at stake. Emotions are our natural means of knowing what matters to us. Sadness, anger and fear are normal emotions that don't cause problems unless they are handled in unhealthy ways. Extreme distress accompanied by negative thoughts that persist may indicate a problem requiring professional help. Don't hesitate to consult a health care specialist if you're concerned.
