Will a person always have to get their limbs amputated if they have neuropathy?

No: Neuropathy on its own is not a reason for limb amputations. Neuropathy however may lead to other things such as ulcers, and poor circulation which may contribute to the need for an amputation.

No: Peripheral neuropathy does not mean that amputations are inevitable but it places the person at more risk because the feet have less sensation. Lack of sensation allows small foot injuries to go unnoticed and things "snowball" from there. This can be an even bigger problems for people with diabetes whose healing is affected. Always wear shoes and check them carefully everyday.
