Elevated enzymes: I think he's just trying to be thorough. In theory HIV could cause elevated liver enzymes...but an AST or ALT of 1000 is pretty high. Its much more likely to be hepatitis A B or C. Heavy drinking can do this too. Excessive tylenol (acetaminophen) use could cause this as well..its a very long list!
