Heavy period: It is possible it may be related to a hormonal imbalance, however there may be other causes. See your doctor and arrange for a referral to GYN for and US and if indicated an endometrial biopsy. All the best.

Go to doctor: This could be totally normal, simply due to premenopausal hormonal imbalance. Or it could be that you are bleeding prolonged , due to fibroids, endometrial polyps, cancer of cervix or endocervix, hormone producing ovarian tumor or cancer vaginal lesions. Please go to doctor.
