A member asked:

Is it possible to live healthily and get enough sleep from only 6 hours of sleep a night? if not what are the risks and consequences?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sleep: Different people need different amounts of sleep. The average is 8 or so. That being said, does the person getting 6 hours of sleep nightly feel refreshed and ready to take on the day? If so, likely there's little chance of a problem. If that person, on the other hand, feels tried and unrefreshed, and if it goes on for a prolonged period of time, then health is at risk.
