A member asked:

Name a ddx for a squishy mass superior to the iliac crest that goes away when you lay down...even on the mri?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mass: A hernia should easily be seen on an MRI. It may however miss a fatty tumor known as a lipoma, since it is the same as the surrounding normal fat. Need a good exam to help out. If no answer, may be a muscle spasm, especially if it feels like a crampy pain. Hope this helps!
