Lyme blood test: In early Lyme Disease Elisa can be negative. No use testing Western Blot if Elisa is negative. Follow patient clinically and if symptoms of Lyme disease occur re-test Elisa.

In my lyme disease panel the Elisa was positive, the western blot was negative. My doctor said Elisa false positives are common. Is this true and why?
I tested positive for a Serology Lyme ELISA so my blood was sent to a specialised lab where it tested negative on a C6 Lyme ELISA and therefore wasn't sent for a Western blot. Is the C6 ELISA more or less accurate? Does this mean Lyme or not? Thanks?
