what can the nursing ratio of nurse to how many patients to be of safe level care?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Diana Metzger
29 years experience Cardiology
Depends: Sicker patients need closer attention. The ratio would be very different from say, recovery room, to icu, to telemetry unit, to med/surg floor, to chronic care (snf) settings. Also depends on skill of nurse.
