Can you suggest some good nursing theory to apply to the care of a patient that just had a sigmoidectomy?

Post surgery: The beast care is to try and get the patient back to normal activities as soon as possible. Ambulation and sitting in a chair are better than laying in bed. If the wound is closed it should not need special attention. A soft diet and some stool softeners will make life a little easier for the first 2 weeks.
