A member asked:

Can you tell me about nursing intervention for patient with hypoxemia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hypoxemia...: refers to low levels of oxygen in the arterial blood which can lead to hypoxia(low levels in the tissues). This information is obtained by lab-ABG. If the patient is having symptoms-respiratory distress, difficulty breathing, increased rate of breathing a nurse should start oxygen and immediately alert the doctor. If no symptoms the nurse should make sure the doctor is aware of the abnormal lab
