Pharyngitis: Most common cause would be acute viral pharyngitis or throat infection. If the pain is worsening after today or you find yourself drooling from an inability to swallow, best to have it looked at as bacterial infection in the throat is dangerous. Notably, your daughter's cough makes strep throat somewhat less likely. Better health!
