I had two sharp sudden pains under my left breast in my rib cage and since then i've had a dry cough and aches in the same area. i can now feel the achyness at the bottom of my ribs and in my upper back sometimes.

Worrisome: The sudden pain could have been from irritation of the pleural lining around the lung (eg from viral infection). If the cough began only afterward and is associated with worsening shortness of breath and more diffuse discomfort, then lung collapse must be considered and is diagnosed by physical exam and xray.
