Needs physical exam: Type of pain you described is very similar to the neurological pain. It could be due to pressure on the nerves that comes to this area from your spine in the neck. But finely diagnosis can be made only with through physical examination and possible imaging studies (MRI).

See doctor: Women sometimes do not have typical symptoms of heart disease. If you are having any pain symptoms on the left side of your chest at 65 years old you need to see your doctor right away. If you have other risks for heart disease like high blood pressure, smoking, diabetes or high cholesterol it is even more important. If pain worsens or persists go to Emergency.
