Ascites: Fluid around the liver can be from several things. Cirrhosis can lead to ascites (fluid in the abdomen). Infections can cause the fluid. Leakage of bile from the bile duct can cause the fluid. There are other causes as well. You need to ask your doctor more questions about this. What does he/she think it is.
