Arcus senilis: is a deposit of cholesterol that occurs in the outer part of the cornea. It appears as a gray arc or ring along the edge of the colored part. Arcus does not cause any problems and does not need to be treated. It is associated with high cholesterol in the blood; so make sure you have your primary care physician measure this.
