I don't know. : Ask your surgeon. What was the lag between his last exam and the day of tube removal? There are several kinds of ear tubes, and this determines the procedures regarding removal.

Hard to say: It is likely that earwax prevented a thorough evaluation of the eardrum by the first doc, and the 2nd was able to see better. Obstructions to the complete visualization of the eardrum occur on a frequent basis in kid.Wax removal by an ENT under direct vision using their specialized equipment is a lot safer than doing so in the regular office.
