A member asked:

What are some complications of a cytoscopy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Minimal, very safe: The most common things to expect that are normal are dysuria (burring, pain with peeing), hematuria (blood in urine) and sometimes increased urgency and frequency. These should resolve quickly if no biopsies or resections are performed. Less common are urinary tract infection. Rarely significant damage can happen to the bladder but usually only if resecting a tumor.
