A member asked:

Hi i was wondering what does a viral vagina swab check for? because i have a wart look alike and the doctor did a swab over it

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A few viruses: Most viral vaginal swabs check for the presence of viruses like herpes, "high risk human papilloma viruses", or other specifically suspected viruses...not for the benign virus (usually HPV 6 or 11) which is responsible for most warts.
