Long Periods : Options include a number of things such as birth control pills, mirena (levonorgestrel) iud, lysteda which is taken at onset of period, or an endometrial ablation which basically ablates the lining of the uterus to decrease bleeding. The last is a surgical procedure that can be done in the office or hospital. You should discuss these options with your MD.
