Low Lying Placenta: Depending upon where you are in your pregnancy it most likely is not associated with the placenta. The cervix and pregnancy is very friable and may have occasional bleeding which is minimal in nature. This type of bleeding is usually painless. The placenta being 3.8 cm from the cervix is not unusual. If you have bright red vaginal bleeding that does not subside then see your physician or contact them immediately. Hope this helps.
