Many causes: Hepatosplenomegaly is the simultaneous enlargement of both the liver (hepatomegaly) and the spleen (splenomegaly). There are many causes for this, including infectious, malignant and metabolic causes. The most common infectious causes are viral infections leading to acute & chronic liver disease and malaria, depending on the part of the world. Lymphomas and leukemias make up malignant causes
