Is it true that prilosec otc can cause osteoporosis after a few years of use?

Prilosec: It is not true and certainly would not lead to osteoporosis at your age unless you are taking other meds that might affect your bones. What you need to find out is why you have a stomach ache so often.

Highly unlikely: It is very unlikely that any of the PPIs (proton pump inhibitors) like Prilosec can cause significant osteoporosis in a short time, if at all. There is some evidence that prolonged use can increase the risk of hip fractures, but this has not been substantiated in large studies. In any event, I would still recommend going out, just the three of us.
