High platelets: A high platelet count can be in response to many things such as infection, inflammation, and many others. It can also be a sign of a problem with the bone marrow. You need to see a physician to have this evaluated.

Please read: These problems are possibly separate and unrelated. Hypertension and osteoporosis are not uncommon in 62 yo. Did you mean the platelet count was 650, 000? What was the hemoglobin ( some connection to hypertension), white cells?....In any case, we take elevated platelet counts seriously....You need to be seen by specialist. Thanks...
