A friend had stomach surgery, is now back in hospital with staph infection. how long does it take to clear? is it contagious?- as i have a newborn.

Leave newborn home: You should not bringing a newborn anywhere near large crowds and especially the hospital. The child's immune system is not mature and if baby has a fever there needs to be a big work-up due to the possibility of infection from the womb.
