A member asked:

How can one suggest the dose of thyronorm for hypothyroid disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many factors: There are formulas that some people use to calculate a dose. I do not find them useful, however. Older people and small people need less, you need to go slow with buildup in people with heart disease, other factors. In a 30 yo healthy woman of normal size, i would probably start with 75 - 100 mcg/day, which is prob slightly low, then get a TSH in 6 weeks and make a dose adjustment.
