How can a doctor know your airways are inflamed if you're asthmatic?

Asthma: By definition is inflammation of the airways. The treatment is to give steroids and bronchodilators by aerosol. When you have an "attack" the sooner you get the meds to the lungs, the quicker ormore effective to lessen the severity.
