Generics: Brand drugs are manufactured by the original company using their original standards that were tested by the clinical researchers, allowing the product to become available to the public. Generic products made by other companies are allowed to have a small variation in efficacy which is generally not clinically a problem, except for blood thinners, thyroid Rx and very sensitive patients.
