About liver tests: Liver function tests measure enzymes found in liver cells, but also elsewhere, eg. muscle cells. Levels rise in the blood when cells are injured.Too much acetaminophen (paracetamol) & alcohol damage to the liver are common reasons, but they can be high in marathon runners & weight lifters from stress on muscles, or w/o identified reason. Best to avoid vigorous exercise the day before a blood test.
