Brushing technique: I recommend starting at the gum tooth margin-- massaging for 10 seconds and then repositioning the brush1/2 way up tooth and reworking the technique until the entire group of teeth are clean.

The whole tooth: needs to be cleaned to prevent tooth decay but the emphasis on the gum-line is to focus on the other primary objective of oral care: periodontal or gum disease. The angulation recommendation is driven by the need to clean under the gum tissue on tooth structure that is sub-gingival and therefore not visible. Your curiosity about this is refreshing. Thanks for taking the subject seriously!

Entire tooth: The angulation of the brush at the gumline stimulates the tissue at the same time that it removes plaque or materia alba, however the entire tooth can be covered with the material so clean the entire exposed surface

Diamondclean Toothbr: While the motion of the toothbrush along the gumline should clean the entire surface of the tooth, you may move the tooth brush from gumline to incisal edge of the tooth for a thorough cleaning.

Yes: Concentrating on gumline of teeth is important. However sweeping up over the crown of tooth is good to remove plague and stain on tooth surface too.

Yes,: please sweep down and cover ALL of the tooth surfaces. Hold the brush with the fingertips as if you were playing a flute. Do not press too hard against the teeth as this will prevent the brush bristles from moving effectively. Sweep down do not scrub back and forth.
