A picture would help: It would be pretty unusual to have a facial abrasion that hasn't healed in 3 years. If the area isn't raw just red in color it could be something else. A vascular lesion, or even a pre-cancer or early skin cancer. Your best bet would be to have it evaluated by your doctor or a dermatologist.
